Allow me to re-introduce myself.

Hi. My name is Ashley Renee Smith aka Ashley Semila. First and foremost, at my core, I’m a woman who loves God. My journey has been one of long-suffering, unlearning and surrender but evidence of His restorative and redemptive nature. I’ve learned to trust God’s timing and choose to live a life that’s fueled by Him rather than by the pressures of the world and the valleys we encounter on earth.

I wear a lot of hats: entreprenuer, esthetician, aunty, friend, creative, cook, host, traveler but everything I do flows from one place: my desire to glorify God and make space for others to feel seen, valued and cared for. Whether I’m in the treatment room, around the table with family and friends or just sharing a word of encouragement, my heart is to bring light and remind people that true beauty and fulfillment in this life is found in and begins with a firm foundation in Jesus Christ.

The name Semila is deeply personal to me. It was my mother’s birth name and though my mom went by her middle name, Denise, affectionately known as “Niecy”, I chose to embrace Semila because it’s beautiful, unique, and complex… just like me. She passed away when I was just two weeks old so carrying her name is also a way of honoring her life.

My faith is truly is the foundation of my life. It’s what grounds me in seasons of waiting, teaches me patience, and reminds me that when you know God’s character you can faint not. I love encouraging others to walk in wholeness and to embrace God in every detail. Through this platform, I hope to share pieces of my journey: faith, food, fashion, travel, wellness and the everyday lessons God is teaching me so that you’re encouraged to live a faith-fueled life of your own.

At the end of the day, I’m just Ashley: a woman who loves God, loves His people and believes in creating a life full of grace, intention and joy with Him at the center.
