Entrepreneurship + The Gospel of John

I just realized that I sent nothing out in May but thats because behind the scenes, I’ve been navigating a major, intentional shift. I officially closed the door on my former part-time job so I can go completely full throttle with Skinderlust and everything else God is building through me.
Lately, I’ve been diving deep into the Gospels, and something stood out to me that completely changed how I view this transition and honestly, how we should all look at building a business.
Have you ever noticed how different the Gospel of John is from Matthew, Mark, and Luke when it comes to the crucifixion?
The first three Gospels deal heavily in the raw, physical practicality of everything. They show us the earthly perspective: the human suffering, the exhaustion and the agonizing weight of carrying the cross and to be honest, when you are in the middle of a major life or business transition, that’s exactly what it feels like. We feel the practical strain of heartbreak, paying bills, declining health of our elders, unexpected expenses etc and pushing through actual physical fatigue.
However, when you read John’s account, the lens completely flips from the practical to the spiritual.
John doesn't deny the physical reality but he lifts our eyes to see the sovereign, heavenly authority operating behind it. In John, Jesus isn’t portrayed as a suffering victim trapped by the foolish ways of earthly beings. He is a King ascending His throne, completely in control of that courtroom from start to finish.
When the soldiers come to arrest Him in the garden, He steps forward, declares "I AM" and the mere sound of His voice knocks all them raggedy guards straight to the ground. Then at the very end, He doesn't just pass away from exhaustion, He declares "Tetelestai" (It is finished, paid in full) and voluntarily hands over His spirit.
Reading that gave me so much legal backing for this new chapter and I wanted to share three things God showed me on balancing the practical and the spiritual and how that will anchor my heart as go back into full-time entrepreneurship:
1. Look Past the Practical Scarcity
In John 6, when the disciples looked at a crowd of 5,000, they immediately started doing the practical math. They panicked over the budget and the scarcity their natural eyes saw. They asked how these few loaves could feed all of these people but Jesus looked past the physical limitations. He took a tiny resource, gave thanks and multiplied it until there was a surplus. When you go out on your own, the world will tell you “you are losing that extra income.” Do the practical labor needed, but because you are being obedient to Him, expect the supernatural multiplication . Nothing placed in His hands is allowed to be wasted.
2. Earthly Ways Don't Hold the Final Authority
During the trials, Pontius Pilate tried to pull rank on Jesus, bragging about his practical, “corporate” power to either release Him or crucify Him. Jesus looked straight at him and dropped an ultimate spiritual boundary line: "You would have no authority over me at all unless it had been given you from above." As you build your vision, remember that no algorithm, no human critic and no earthly way has an ounce of real leverage over your life or your business. They all answer to the One who guides you and gave YOU this vision.
3. Your Foundation is Spiritually Secured
Transitions can definitely feel extremely stretching and your physical body will feel the fatigue of the labor (mine did and I ended up in the emergency room, but I am fine, I’m just extremely spiritually sensitive). However, I am doing the heart work to truly believe that my value and my authority in this industry don't depend on worldly validation, public applause or how many likes a social media reel gets. It’s anchored in the Cornerstone and He has already laid the spiritual foundation.
So, while the world grinds through practical math and worries about what people will say, lets rest in the spiritual reality just like John: the price has been paid, the authority is given and the victory is already secured.
